Post Treatment

To improve the quality and appearance of the final product, post-plating processes are carried out. Anti-tarnish agents are available to prevent surface oxidation and discoloration, particularly for protecting Sn and Sn-Cu alloy plating. There are also post-treatment agents that improve the corrosion resistance of electroless nickel plating.

1

Copper Plating

There are two main types of copper plating: electrolytic and electroless. Electrolytic processes are used for general decorative purposes, through-hole plating on printed circuit boards, and conformal and filling applications on wafers. Electroless processes, on the other hand, are used for through-hole plating and SAP processes. EDTA-free and cyanide-free baths, which are difficult to treat, offer safety and superior properties for specific plating needs.

2

Nickel Plating

Nickel plating includes both electrolytic and electroless methods. The electrolytic process offers various brightness levels, while the electroless process is applied to PWB, wafers, and hard disks. Specific types like Ni-B and ternary alloys with nickel are also available for specialized applications.

3

Chromium Plating

Chrome plating is primarily used to improve the corrosion resistance of decorative plating. By adding special additives, high-hardness coatings can be obtained quickly. In addition, special trivalent chromium plating baths have excellent corrosion resistance against snow-melting agents.

Zinc Plating

There are three types of zinc plating: cyanide, acid, and alkaline cyanide-free. Each process has different characteristics and is selected based on the specific requirements of the part being plated.

5

TIN, TIN Alloy Plating

There are electrolytic tin plating, tin alloy plating, and electroless tin plating.
These processes are used to apply durable, protective coatings to a variety of components to ensure reliable performance.

7

Silver Plating

Silver plating is available in electrolytic silver plating and electroless silver plating, which are films that have excellent solder joint reliability, wire bonding properties, and silver sintering joints.

8

Palladium Plating

Palladium plating is an electroless process that is used especially for the final surface treatment of PWBs and wafer plating. It has excellent solderability and bonding properties.
